ITA - Redaelli Trieste starts metallic rope production

Redaelli, a Trieste based company, within Severstal-Metiz Group since 2005, has started the production of the world biggest metallic rope.

The new product has a diameter of 175 mm, 100 Kg/meter and is delivered in coils weighing up to 600 tonnes.  The production has been possible thanks to an investment of EUR 12 million within Trieste factory.  The new product will mainly be addressed to serve off-shore oil stations as anchoring and fixing tools.

Redaelli is one of the world leader for metallic ropes, with three production units in Italy and a turnover of about EUR 80 million in 2008. The company is broadly known as the producer of so called “red strand” launched during the 70’s.
