Greek holds second set of talks on ThyssenKrupp shipyard sale

Bloomberg reported that Mr Evangelos Venizelos Greek defense minister held a second round of talks with ThyssenKrupp AG and Abu Dhabi MAR Group on the sale of a Greek shipyard.

According to an e mailed statement from the Athens based ministry, a series of outstanding issues were resolved and legal advisers are drafting a final agreement, expected to be finished September 2nd 2010, to submit to the Greek government. Mr Venizelos’s meeting was on the course of plans to sell a majority stake in Hellenic Shipyards, which is

owned by ThyssenKrupp, to Abu Dhabi and to review a contract for submarines with the Greek Navy. The Greek government said on March 1st 2010 that Abu Dhabi MAR will take a 75.1% stake in Hellenic Shipyards, with ThyssenKrupp holding the remainder.
