Goldman Sachs lowers estimates for metals in 2010

Bloomberg reported that Goldman Sachs Group Inc lowered its 2010 estimates for copper, lead, zinc, nickel, iron ore, coking coal and platinum and raised gold.

The bank said that zinc will be 12% less than previously estimated at USD 1,981 per tonne and coking coal will be 10% lower at USD 199 per ton.

Goldman said that the 2010 gold estimate was raised 1% to USD 1,181 an ounce. The copper forecast was lowered 8% to USD 7,050 per tonne.
