Deutsche Messe Global Fairs: Deutsche Messe now in Mumbai

Lesedauer: min

ENERGY INDIA, MDA INDIA, CeMAT INDIA and Industrial Automation INDIA are taking place this year in Mumbai from 10 to 13 December. This year Deutsche Messe is organizing its four industrial fairs in Mumbai. From 10 to 13 December the Bombay Exhibition Centre will be hosting CeMAT INDIA, ENERGY INDIA, MDA INDIA and Industrial Automation INDIA. The activities in Mumbai mark the expansion of the Deutsche Messe operation on the Indian marketplace. Exhibiting companies can now also be confident of reaching new target groups in the west of India. "Our exhibitors want their trade show participation to bring them closer to clients in the key industrial centres of the sub-Continent. In view of the vastness of the country and the continuing difficulties with transport, this goal cannot be achieved at one single venue. For this reason we have decided to relocate our industrial fairs to Mumbai this year. However, this does not mean that we are completely turning our backs on Bangalore - it simply indicates that we are considering a strategy of alternating between Mumbai and Bangalore in order to reach the country's most important industrial regions and diverse catchment areas", explains Wolfgang Lenarz, Director of Deutsche Messe Global Fairs. With a population of 14 million, Mumbai is not only India's biggest city, but also the country's leading business and finance metropolis. Mumbai also boasts the biggest stock exchange in India and is home to the head offices of many major industrial companies. Last year, around 30 percent of all the country's international trade shows and exhibitions took place in Mumbai. The location is ideal for companies hoping to reach target groups in the powerful automobile industry in the Pune region. The Bombay Exhibition Centre was built in 1991 and is recognized as one of the most important exhibition venues in India. The site enjoys excellent transport links to the city centre and the nearby international airport. Many good hotels in diverse price categories can be found in the proximity of the Exhibition Grounds.  In the face of the ongoing crisis on the world's finance markets, India remains one of the strongest growth economies. The research organization CMIE - Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy - has predicted an 8.2 percent growth in GDP for the current year. Although growth has slowed down in most industrial sectors during the current financial year, CMIE forecasts suggest that growth will still be around 7.4 percent this year (compared to 8.5 percent last year). By contrast with other export-oriented Asian countries, it is the strength of domestic demand that provides the driving force behind the growth of the Indian market. Consequently, companies can expect to find good business opportunities in India for the foreseeable future.
