According to Metallurgprom, Ukrainian steelmaking companies have increased daily average production of pig iron in comparison with January 2009 by 32% to 79,500 tonnes. At the same time this figure is grater then December 2009 by 4.6%.
Moreover, by the state on January 17th 2010, daily average production of steel is 92800 tonnes, rolled products 82,400 tonnes.
As it is noticed in the report, from total 41 blast furnaces in Ukraine idle are 13, from 21 oxigen converters idle is 1, from 42 open-hearth furnaces 26 are idle from 14 electric arc furnaces 7 are idle.
