Interfax-China reported that China Power Investment Corp one of the country's five largest power generators plans to begin constructing a 300 megawatt wind power farm in Kailu County, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region within the year. CPI said it recently received approval from the National Development and Reform Commission to begin constructing the farm.

The company estimated that the farm's wind turbines will be designed to work for over 2,300 hours and generate a total of 700 million kilowatt-hours per year. The farm is scheduled to start operation in 2013. CPI said that power produced from the farm will be sold to the state power grid network at a rate of CNY 0.5216 per kWh.
