New trade fair in Stuttgart | theme impressed the industry

With CastForge, Messe Stuttgart is expanding its product portfolio in the segment of industrial trade fairs. The trade fair for castings and forgings and their processing celebrates its première in Stuttgart from 5 to 7 June 2018.

The concept for the new trade fair is tuned to the needs of industrial companies, exhibitors and visitors. With CastForge, Messe Stuttgart is offering manufacturers a platform of their own for the first time to showcase its extensive range of services and products in steel, grey and nodular cast iron and forged parts to an international audience in one of Europe's strongest economic regions.

Associations and industry experts confirm that demand for cast and forged products is as high as never before and future demand is strong. Firstly this is due to the full order book situation in classic customer industries such as automotive, mechanical engineering and plant construction. Added to this is the growing demand in new markets such as the renewable energy sector and the changeover process to digital in industrial production which would be inconceivable without modern cast and forged products. The demand here is for flexible casting plants and forges capable of reacting quickly to individual customer requirements, including small batches.

"With CastForge we have developed a trade fair concept that closes a gap in the trade fair landscape and the positive response from exhibitors confirms our decision here. In future, the industry for cast and forged products and their processing will meet in Stuttgart," says Ulrich Kromer, President of Messe Stuttgart, explaining the new event. The new trade fair takes place concurrently with the automotive shows of the British events organiser UKIP, Surface Technology of Deutschen Messe AG and LASYS, the International Trade Fair for Laser Material Processing of Messe Stuttgart.

Product complexity and the demand for castings and forgings are on the increase. "It is important for customers to obtain a high-quality, ready-to-install product," says Kromer. CastForge presents the value-added chain extending from cast or forging blanks and processing through to the final components. "Here we are bringing supply and demand together for the first time in the D-A-CH region," adds the Managing Director of Messe Stuttgart.

Industry underlines the importance of the new trade fair

"Our attendance at the new event initiative of CastForge gives us the opportunity to address new target groups in our main markets, just as the Messe Stuttgart slogan states, Key to Markets. As such, Southern Germany is one of the largest industrial locations in Europe and is certainly an excellent choice due to its innovative capacity. It is therefore of great interest to us," says Stefan Michel, Managing Director of Ed. Fitscher GmbH & Co. KG and is definite about his attendance.

For Sebastian Knust, Branch Manager of Schmiedewerk Stoss GmbH, there is a definite advantage over other trade fairs. "We have always needed a specialist trade fair with trade visitors for the segment of forged parts and ring rollers. With CastForge we now have the opportunity to maintain contacts to our client base and win new customers in this specific segment.“

René Kreuzbichler, Sales Director of Maschinenfabrik Liezen und Gießerei GmbH explains that the main reasons for attending the trade fair include the chance to present production processes in his company and to conduct direct talks with potential customers: "CastForge in Stuttgart will provide answers to the key issues facing the industry and is an ideal platform to advertise our competencies and product quality.“

For Furio Scolaro, Director Export Sales & Marketing at F3TEC Group, the unique focus of the trade fair is the main factor why he is attending: "Compared to other trade fairs, we expect CastForge to focus more strongly on our core competencies. In Stuttgart we intend to convince important industry contacts and decision-makers about our products. In addition we are looking forward to exchanging news and views, transferring knowledge on best practices, discovering the latest trends as well as winning new business partners. All this is excellent potential to generate new business.“

Daniele Bosisio, Sales Director of Feat Group SPA, puts it in a nutshell: "The Feat Group is an export-based drop forging company and Germany is one of our key markets. CastForge is a unique and specialist trade fair which gives us the chance to present our product and service portfolio. Due to its excellent infrastructure and strong economic base, Stuttgart is the best location.“
