Itar-Tass cited Mr Igor Komarov president of AvtoVAZ as saying that Russia biggest car manufacturer AvtoVAZ and the Renault-Nissan alliance will make up to 300,000 motor vehicles a year at a joint production facility in Russia’s Togliatti starting from 2012.
Mr Komarov said overall investments in the project will amount to EUR 400 million euros, with Renault-Nissan accounting for EUR 300 million. Starting from September 2012, Nissan will produce 75,000 cars a year under its brand name in Togliatti and Renault 150,000 cars from March 2013. AvtoVAZ will manufacture 75,000 cars a year under the Lada brand name. The three will use a single platform.
